consolidado como el segundo productor mundial de salmones, alcanzando una cifra r\u00e9cord de 1.090.000 toneladas netas en 2023. Esta industria, clave para la econom\u00eda nacional, se ha desarrollado intensamente en zonas australes del pa\u00eds. Sin embargo, el crecimiento del cultivo masivo de salm\u00f3n y trucha ha estado acompa\u00f1ado de grandes desaf\u00edos sanitarios, siendo uno de los m\u00e1s importantes la lucha contra enfermedades virales que afectan gravemente la salud de los peces y la sustentabilidad del sector. Desde entonces, se han identificado dos caracter\u00edsticas moleculares asociadas a su virulencia: una regi\u00f3n altamente polim\u00f3rfica (HPR) en el segmento 6 y diversas inserciones en el segmento 5 del genoma viral, que codifica la prote\u00edna de Fusi\u00f3n (Fu). Para ello, se utilizar\u00e1 un sistema de gen\u00e9tica reversa \u00fanico en el pa\u00eds, desarrollado por laboratorios desarrollados en la Usach, permitiendo generar virus recombinantes mutantes con distintas combinaciones de inserciones y estructuras HPR. Demostrar que las inserciones en el segmento 5 del ISAV son un factor determinante de su virulencia, en especial cuando se presentan junto a variantes con deleciones en la regi\u00f3n HPR del segmento 6..<br><br>2. Generar una bater\u00eda de virus recombinantes ISAV, utilizando bases gen\u00e9ticas de virus virulentos y avirulentos, con diferentes combinaciones de inserciones en el segmento 5.<br><br>3. Caracterizar en cultivos celulares (in vitro) la infectividad y expresi\u00f3n proteica de las variantes obtenidas.<br><br>4.
